The Art And Science Of Installation Services

July 2009

You know where you want your signage, but the job site has more angles than a Hollywood movie contract. That’s when you need a professional installation team. And that’s when you call us!

One of our crack installers is Dmitri Smirnoff. With an engineer’s mind and an artist’s touch, Dmitri can work graphics into the smallest corners, across the largest ceiling, and everything in between. Based in Canada, he helps a number of ARC shops make their most high-profile jobs into minor works of art.

Together with wingman Eugene Volhovitski, Dmitri has recently completed visual makeovers for retail locations in San Francisco, Chicago, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

“He was amazing,” says an admiring client who met Dmitri during a hurry-up install at a mall in the San Francisco Bay Area. “He came down from a job in Canada and saved our bacon! He worked day and night… overcoming overzealous security guards, huffing a ton of rented scaffolding, and got it all done before the mall opened the next morning. He’s a magician.”

Printing your graphics is what we do best, but we know how important installation can be to an effective presentation. Contact us today and ask for installation ideas to make your work stand up and stand out!

“Old World” Signage With New Technology

July 2009

Recently, the owner of a Cleveland bar asked if could give him a the look of an “oldtime brewery,” even though it was a brand new establishment. Creating “antique” signage was nothing new for us!

We showed the owner’s architect a specially designed application for brick and other textured wall surfaces that lends graphics a comfortably broken in, Old World feel. As the product can be safely removed without damaging the walls at a later date – an option the architect wanted to keep open – it was just the thing our client was looking for.

First to go up was a venerable beer logo, printed to give it the weathered look of a painted wall sign. The client loved it, and three more logos went up at the Cleveland location – with the client ordering additional signage for more than 10 other restaurants.

Got that “everything old is new again” kind of challenge? Contact us today and let our production and installation specialists find new ways to capture that “Old World” ambience.

Get A Big Message Across With Big Boards

July 2009

Sometimes you need to take a “big picture” view to get a point across in land use hearings and other municipal meetings. Here’s how we helped one town capture the attention they needed.

A municipality in Southern California was having a difficult time getting its side of the story out during lengthy hearings about proposed land use within the district. “We couldn’t get anyone to listen to us, much less understand our position,” one local administrator said.

That changed when district officials contacted one of our divisions in Southern California and asked for more than 80 4’x8’ story boards. The boards – each as large as a full sheet of plywood – carried simple black and white text and graphics, while others required sophisticated renderings and diagrams in full color. Each helped the district tell its story and move its agenda forward.

How about your next meeting? Need an attention-getter or two to make that big project happen? Contact us today.

Give “Credit Cards” Where Credit Is Due!

July 2009

When you need to motivate your employees, let us extend our “creative credit” and produce a cost-effective and compelling incentive for your next business initiative.

A builder in Richmond, VA found a novel use of our color print capabilities when he turned to us for 2,000 mock “credit cards” he could hand out to his sales force as part of a contest. Their top salesperson got an actual card with a handsome credit limit at the end of their quarter.

Creative credit also goes to a real estate company in the Washington D.C. area that used a similar giveaway to promote a networking strategy for their brokers. The graphics on the credit card look-a-like included incentive and bonus codes, along with a web address so employees could discover new incentive programs on their company web site.

All these “credit cards” were printed several to a sheet using direct-to-board technology on styrene, and then carved out on a digital cutter.

Making A Million

July 2009

It takes a lot of capacity to turn out a million pages of manuals in a short time, but it’s easy when you’ve got the support of more than 300 locations nationwide.

One of our divisions in the San Francisco Bay Area put out a call for assistance recently when a major medical devices company needed thirteen different medical manuals – more than a million printed impressions in all.

“The job came in on April 20 and the majority of the work had to be done by May 5,” InPrint President Karl Winkelman remembers. “When I first saw what they needed I put out a call to our sister divisions.”

Once the print teams from four San Francisco Bay Area divisions ended up splitting the massive job, the job wasn’t so massive at all.

Got a big job and a short time to do it in? Contact us about our capacity and you’ll look like a million!
